Bennett R Ford III

Bennett R. Ford III, is a second generation Florida attorney. He is an associate with the Law Offices of Mark L. Horwitz PA., and regularly handles a variety of criminal and civil cases in county, state and federal court. He represents clients with charges ranging from misdemeanor battery, DUI, petit theft and drug offenses, to serious felony charges including sex offenses, grand theft, drug trafficking and cases involving firearms. He also defends white-collar crime cases such as insurance and mortgage fraud, as well as SEC violations.

Ford has been admitted to the Florida Bar, and the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. He is also a member of the Central Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Orange County Bar Association. After graduating from law school, he worked as an Assistant Public Defender with the Office of the Public Defender where he handled both misdemeanor and felony cases. That exposure to such a numerous and diverse case load has provided him with a wealth of knowledge and experience, and helped him to develop a close working relationship with those in the Central Florida court system.

After college, Ford worked as a private investigator, working on criminal cases. He then attended law school at Florida State University College of Law (FSU), and graduated with his Juris Doctorate degree. While attending FSU, he participated in the Children's Advocacy Center clinic, assisting children and their parents with criminal and civil legal cases. In addition, he clerked with an insurance defense law firm.

Ford was born and raised in Titusville, Florida . He attended the University of Central Florida (UCF) and graduated with a BA degree. While attending UCF he was heavily involved in a variety of campus activities, including Student Government, writing for the school paper, and numerous honor societies and organizations. There, he developed a strong connection with the Central Florida community and the University. He regularly volunteers his time working with student organizations and often represents college and high school students in legal matters.
